Santa Monica Memories!

J.R. Farrow recently re-discovered these great pics
of MTB, circa 1974, after losing them in a move in 1993. When he first
came across them he was afraid that being in the garage for 9 years - exposed to
heat, humidity, cold, and everything else a garage might contain - that they
would be ruined... but they look as good as new! The
show, he thinks, was in May at the Civic Center. He said, "I saw
Marshall Tucker there twice (no photos the second time unfortunately) and the
Eagles once (another great concert!). It's
the best place for a concert I've ever been because it's like a large movie
theater and the acoustics are just about perfect".
These shots were taken from about 10 or 12 rows
from the stage with a Vivatar 135mm f1.5 professional lens (using slide
film). I hope you enjoy them, they are about the best I've ever seen of
early MTB!

J.R. also got some great pics of the opening band - thought you might like to see them as well!

Thanks for the memories, J.R. - FANTASTIC pics!
